Tinfish Press is resurfacing its journal after a 10-year hiatus! We are looking for poetry and essays that speak to the mission of Tinfish, which seeks to publish experimental work of the Pacific, while also considering the themes of rage and hope.

2-4 poems. Ideally, for every poem about rage, you will also submit a poem about hope. Poems do not have to mirror each other, rather create a conversation. We are looking for “experimental” work—your most extraordinary, formally inventive, awry pieces.

We are looking for 500-1000 word essays. Essays should be attentive to inquiries into rage and hope. We are most interested in meditations on art, writing, love, hate, the environment, capitalism, colonialism, decolonialism, sex, and so on. Please submit only one essay.

Please send submissions to Jaimie Gusman, who will be taking over editorship in 2020, at submit@tinfishpress.com. Your name and genre should appear in the headline (ex: Jane Doe, Poetry). Poems should be grouped together in a single .doc, .docx or .pdf document. Essays should also be sent as an attachment. No previously published pieces. In your bio, please tell us a little about yourself and the work you are sending. Simultaneous submissions are fine, but please let us know immediately if your work is taken elsewhere. Submit by September 1, 2019.
